Nationals Day 1 Recap

Both our Senior Women and U15AAA boys were in action on Wednesday October 6th at the Canadian National Championships. Both fought hard in their matches against the representatives from Ontario.

Our Senior women played a hard fought battle against the Ontario representatives out of London in a close 2-1 loss. London scored twice in the first half to lead 2-0 after 45 but County was not without chances. County put pressure on in the 1st half and kept on pressuring to make the comeback. Jenna Blackburn scored the 1st goal on a free kick from outside of the box to make it 2-1. County came close to tying but the defence and goalkeeping from London could not be breached a second time. The women look to bounce back on Saturday October 8th at 10:30AM against CS Trident out of Quebec. Be sure to tune in and support our women’s team as they try to take home the win!

Our U15AAA boys took the field later in the afternoon also against the Ontario representative from Thornhill. The boys fought hard for the whole 70 minutes but fell short to a very strong team 6-0. County played great defence and had some great pressure during the game but a strong defence from Thornhill could not be cracked. We have a short turnaround as they play against Today at 2:00PM against another strong opponent out of British Columbia. Tune in as the boys will look to take the win in an East Coast vs West Coast matchup!
